ENDANGERED OR THREATENED SPECIES PERMIT APPLICATION
 
Educational Permit Application
Individuals or Institutions (e.g. schools, museums, zoos) may possess and use specimens or products of endangered or threatened animals or federal endangered plants in educational programs with this permit. Permits for education purposes will be issued only to institutions or to individuals employed and/or sponsored by an institution.   
 
Scientific Permit Application
An individual, firm, corporation, partnership, trust, association, private entity, government agency, or their agents and representatives may conduct scientific work involving endangered or threatened animals or federal endangered plants with this type of permit. Scientific work involves collecting, handling, releasing, translocating, or observing closely listed species or their eggs, seeds, dens, nests, or progeny. Applicants may also propagate if an addendum is added to this type of permit.   
 
Zoological/Botanical Permit Application
Zoological/Botanical institutions (e.g. zoological parks, aquaria, arboreta, nature centers) may possess or display specimens or products of endangered or threatened animals or federal endangered plants with this type of permit. They may also propagate if an addendum is added to this type of permit.   
 
Limited Possession (Hobbyist) Permit Application
An individual, firm, corporation, partnership, trust, association, private entity, government agency, or their agents and representatives may possess specimens or products of endangered or threatened animals or federally endangered plants with this permit.
